Mental health is sometimes an elephant in the room due to the stigma that may come with certain health diagnoses such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, bipolar and schizophrenia. Ways to practice self-care:
making YOU a priority with self motivation, accountability and healthy boundaries
maintaining a healthy physical, mental, spiritual and financial life style
see your therapist
take meds if prescribed
realize your triggers and how will you handle them, like safe relief methods
do happy things like listening to your favorite song and maybe dancing
Those are just a few tips, do you have more?
It is not always easy to implement self-care but necessary. People will challenge it because they do not have the same access to you and that is ok. Most importantly know that YOU are worthy.
